This is a fabulous Spring for clothes. The past few years manufacturers have kept their production to a minimum and retailers have been cautious and have purchased less. This Spring the manufacturers have outdone themselves and there is a fabulous selection of clothes available.
This is good news for my clients. Most people have not been shopping much, if at all, during the pandemic, so everyone seems to be in need of a few new things to freshen up their depleted and lack luster wardrobes.
Here are a few highlights of what is available this season.
Added to the basics of black, charcoal, white and cream are lilac, yellow, fuschia, caramel, red, blue and green. There are also lots of prints available.
This is the time to pick up that versatile blazer style jacket that you can throw over anything from jeans to dress pants to dresses. The "shacket" which is a combination of a shirt and a jacket, is great for a casual addition to your wardrobe. There are also dressier hoodies that can be used for business casual as well as to dress up a casual look.
Pants of every shape, style and length are available from skorts to wide leg calf lengths to capris, as well ankle length and full length pants. Before adding too many of these cute styles, consider the tops that go which each style. Narrow down the styles you choose by assessing what tops you have now and which ones you want to invest in.
The variety of tops available is endless. I particularly like the variety in short sleeve, V or round neck tops in the new colors and prints with added neck and sleeve treatments or motifs. Adding a few of these to any wardrobe will brighten up and add life to outfits that need a refresh.
5. Wardrobe Review
If you need help going through the myriad of fashion choices available, be sure to reach out for help. This might also be a great time to get professional help to do a closet cleaning and wardrobe review. At the least, go through your closet and only pull out the clothes that fit you now and that you feel good in. Use these as a basis for building your Spring capsule wardrobe.
