With things beginning to open up,  many of us are looking forward to taking smaller or larger vacations very soon.  Packing toiletries for a trip can be a major challenge for many travellers because they can take up a lot of space.  Following these tips for packing your bag will ensure you have everything you need and that you can pack them in the smallest amount of space.

1. Make Everything Compact
Ensure your cosmetics are travel size and avoid taking any large containers.  Leak proof bottles are available in a variety of sizes and shapes.  Buy clear containers for shampoo, conditioner, styling products, facial cleansers and day cream.  I have found the best leak proof containers at Mountain Equipment Coop. (see photo).  Use a permanent marker to label each container to easily identify the contents.

2. Make Purchases Ahead Of Time
Think ahead and purchase deodorant, toothpaste, contact lens solution, eye makeup remover, etc. in travel size packaging when you spot them.

3. Separate Morning and Evening Routine Products
Put your morning and evening products in clear plastic bags or containers. Whether or not you are planning on travelling in the near future,  begin to assemble a travel bag of grooming supplies.

4. Do A Trial Run With Your Toiletry Bag

Before going on a trip, do a trial run through, to ensure you haven't forgotten anything.  This will mean you can grab your bag and go without any risk of forgetting something.
